Partnership Info

Thank you for your interest in Partnering the California Envirothon!

Background

What: The California Envirothon is a competitive, outdoor, natural resources education program for high school students. In the field, students work as a team to answer science-related questions covering soils, forestry, aquatics, wildlife and a nationally designated environmental theme (e.g., water quality or agriculture). Teams conduct hands-on field testing focusing on natural resources and environmental challenges. The winning team is sent to the National Conservation Foundation Envirothon competition where winning teams from participating states and Canadian provinces compete for recognition and scholarships.

When: The California state competition occurs late spring each year.

Why: To provide youth with natural resources knowledge to promote responsibility and a sense of stewardship of the environment. Student participants often go on to study and work in STEM and conservation-related fields. Donor contributions will provide funds necessary to host the event  (e.g., maintaining station science-testing kits, fees for conference center and lodging, refreshments and food, awards, etc.) and increase the number of high schools participating.

We invite small business, corporations, government agencies, individuals, and CAE alumni to become a partner of the California Envirothon.
